The children in year 1 and 2 had an exciting time watching a live stream of Mr Dilly meets. This is a session where the children can meet authors and illustrators. Today the children were introduced to Alex Latimer and Jonny Lambert. It started off with talking to Alex Latimer about his new book; Don’t think of tigers. The children were captivated by this funny, interactive book! Alex talked about growing up in Cape Town and how her developed his artistic skills to become an author/illustrator. He even answered our question about what his favourite thing to draw was – obviously it was tigers and also dinosaurs.
Secondly the children met Jonny Lambert who had written and illustrated a new book; Winter Wonderland Adventure. Jonny explained that he used his daughter’s adventures to help him to create this story too!
After we met each author, they provided a draw-a-long for the children to complete. They were fantastic and we hope that we have continued our work to inspire more authors and illustrators for the future!
